African wall decor

In general, African art is steeped in visual expressions of ritual, prestige, everyday life and religious beliefs. These essential characteristics are manifested prominently in their sculpture. African masks are just examples of this. The mask covers the face and has holes along the side. Before the wearer dons the costume his assistants will rub his body with a covering of natural oil. This serves as protection against evil spirits. The mask is then placed over the face and attached to the head opening of the costume.

African masks constitute expressions of religious ritual. They are also used as African wall decor. Check out a set of authentic works of African art hand carved in Kenya. They are perfect for wall décor. It will display the exquisite detail crafted by hand with the help of a chisel.
