Candle making can be a fun and productive hobby. Make candles for your own consumption or to give away as gifts. Container based candles are the easiest to make. The beautiful colors of the wax are a joy to behold. So are the beautiful shapes and unique designs of the container bottles.
Rather than wait for your favorite candle store to offer discounted jar candles, why not make them yourself? To make them, you will need:
Jar candle making is as easy as melting candle wax, adding color and/or fragrance and pouring them into prepared jars.
- several empty jars or containers
- a double boiler
- candle wax
- candle wicks (recommended: pre-waxed and wired wicks with wicks clips)
- crayon pieces for coloring the wax
- oven mitts
- wax paper
- optional: candle fragrance

There are so many options available when it comes to buying serving pieces, that I find it more difficult to decide what is the best type to purchase. A food serving tray accomplishes a few key things: it provides a sturdy surface for presentation of food, drinks and other items; it also provides a stylish way to present the same food and drinks; and it could also serve as a complement to the décor of a party or event that you are hosting.
Food serving trays are most often used during special events or occasions, so it is very important to know what choices there are when choosing a food serving tray to purchase. In order to purchase the right type of tray, you should first determine what your needs are. The size, shape, and even design of the food serving tray that you will purchase will all depend on the purpose or reason that you have for needing the tray.

If you think you need a place specifically for changing your baby’s diaper what you need is a changing table. Changing tables that we use in baby’s nursery are so much different from those that we see in public places. They are not just padded platforms where the baby can rest while being changed; they are also places to organize all the baby’s accessories in. All baby needs such as pins, wipes and baby care products are within easy reach. Some even have drawers for keeping baby diapers and apparel.
Realizing that the changing table will be used by a delicate baby, it should be thoroughly checked for sturdy and safe construction. Make sure that it is not wobbly, uneven or otherwise unsafe for baby. Changing tables come in different shapes and sizes. Choice is often made based on how it looks. Don’t forget to check also that they are of the right height. The parent should be able to stand straight without having to stretch or stoop.

Taking good care of your crystal wine glass sets is necessary for it to last long and passed on to the next generation. Never put your crystal glasses in the dishwasher. Only those that are not made from crystal can be washed in the dishwasher. Use a small amount of very mild detergent to clean your glass. Rinse each glass with hot water and allow to air dry.
Always use the same towel or sponge to clean your glasses to avoid contamination from detergents used when washing other dishes. Another great cleaning aid is the use of baking soda mixed with hot water. This is highly recommended for finer, delicate crystal. It is best to use a rack where the glasses are upside down to air dry. Make sure to wash your wine glasses promptly and never leave it overnight with wine.

Steamers that get heat from stovetop burners are the most common in homes. The simplest and most iconic steamer is that used in Asian homes. These are bamboo baskets with bamboo lids that are set on a wok with water. They can be stacked one over the other to cook different dishes. These are very inexpensive and are easy to find.
Stainless steel stovetop steamers are also popular. There are different models available. When purchasing one, look for features such as a glass lid for easy viewing and heat resistant handles for safe handling. You might also want to check the base material to insure that it distributes heat evenly. One with adjustable steaming rack will be most advantageous.

A simple stylish home can be transformed into a beach side sanctuary with nautical decors. Depending on what your fixation is of marine life there are a lot of choices to have that ocean feel home. Mini anchors hanging on walls add to that nautical look. Beach house furniture like loungers and nautical table can add to the look significantly. The cool colors of the ocean, and breeze of the beach all add up to complete the nautical look.
Nautical decor options include everything from bed sheets to accent decor to furniture, and all should be in keeping with the sea theme. Bed sheets and rugs with marine creatures or the classic blue-white stripes should definitely be on the list. For the bathroom, nautical decor can be in the form of your sea shell collections. The Chinese are known for their ceramic vases. Chinese ceramics were not always made of good quality clay. Some were made from construction materials such as bricks and tiles. There were also those handmade from clay and fired in kilns. Chinese vases are probably the most sophisticated among Asian vases.
Chinese vases were classified according to the period during which they were made. We read of porcelain vases being made in the province of Zhejiang during the Eastern Han period. We refer to them as products of the Han dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD). Other creations were made during the Ming and the Qing Dynasties. Different techniques and designs identified products of the various periods.

We used to marvel at candles fashioned into fruits and vegetable. They looked very much like the real thing. This is because candles can be tinted to just the right color desired. It can also be sculpt to the perfect shape. The result is a faultless replica of whatever it is being copied.
Now, we have to deal with another dimension to these candle sculptures with food scented candles. Pies, cakes, muffins and breads are not only made to look real, they also smell as good as they look. How about puddings in vanilla, chocolate or banana flavor? They may not satisfy your hunger but they are certainly good to look at.
