My siblings and I have long moved out of the house and live in various places throughout the country. We are all trying to find our place in this world and be able to make something for ourselves and our chosen career paths. We hardly get to see each other, but we try our very best to be in constant communication at all times. This is a hard thing to endure, but we all must make sacrifices in order to achieve more in life.

The only time we get to come home is during thanksgiving and the holidays. We all would usually be too excited to visit our parents and be in the first plane out to get there on time. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite occasions, as I absolutely love my mother’s meals as well as the décor she has in her home. As soon as I arrive home I would be greeted by a wonderful thanksgiving wreath by the front door, and be swarmed with hugs from family and relatives. It just feels so good to be home.

I have been looking for the perfect sign which I would use for my front porch. I would want my guests to already feel welcome without even having to step inside my home yet. It always makes a huge difference when you are able to make your guests feel special and comfortable whenever they come knocking at your door. This is the reason why I am very particular with the decor and furnishings I use for my space.

I found the perfect accent for my front porch with personalized slate signs. I came across these things when I visited a client of mine, and saw this customized decor outside their home. I could not help but ask my client where she got the piece, and she was more than willing to write down the link of where she had bought the sign. I have ordered my own for my porch, and could not wait to get it from the mail soon!

During the winter season, my entire family looks forward to spending our weekends in the living room and keeping ourselves warm in front of the fireplace. I would usually prepare cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows, and lay out a few sweet treats like cookies and pastries which we would munch on. This is one of the rare moments we can get together, converse and laugh at the same time.

Whenever we have these sessions I always make sure that I have the decorative fireplace screen in front so I can keep everyone protected. My garden is pretty fascinating when you look at it. I have a small pond where fishes and turtles live. I have an area where I grow fresh produce and herbs which I use for cooking. On one side of the space I have flowering plants and bushes with color schemes complementing each other perfectly. I have outdoor furniture where guests and my family can relax when they prefer staying outdoors.

When night time falls though, the beauty of the space can no longer be seen. In the dark night, the only thing I can appreciate is the natural sounds of the insects and birds looming in the area. This is why I had some hummingbird solar garden stake bought on the internet, so I can decorate my space and enhance it. This way, I would be able to have a feature which can be viewed at night.

I invest in many things for my home, but the specific place I am most particular about is the bedroom. Since I am hardly at home except during weekends, I rarely get to spend a lot of time in my kitchen or living room. I spend most of my time in my bedroom whenever I come home from work and would need to get to bed immediately. This is why I make sure the bedroom is a comfortable place.

Aside from investing in a huge bed to help me relax and get comfortable, I also have a number of duvet cover sets which matched the color scheme of the room. This way I can get everything to match and not worry about eyesore in terms of the colors in my room. I also have a number of soft and plush pillows which help me get to sleep more comfortably. These things are essential for me to get a good night’s rest every time.

My parents have been married for 50 years. Who would have thought they can last that long when the average couple would usually have rough times and call it quits even after a few months in their marriage? I am truly proud of them for having stayed together all this time. We look up to them and all wish we are able to enjoy the same marriage with our current spouses.

This is why we decided to send them off for a vacation for their anniversary. We also planned to have a decorator to revamp their home and be surprised to come home with a great space. The bedroom will be the first place to be redecorated, and the designer already showed us the color schemes for items such as luxury bedding sheets and other bedroom accessories. I am sure my parents would really be happy and excited with our surprise!

Since I work long hours in the office, sometimes even go out of town for business trips, I hardly get time to spend in my home. I would usually come there to sleep and then wake up the following morning to run off again to work. This is the typical schedule that I keep; I guess I am married to my job. I say I simply have bills to pay.

But during those rare moments when I get to stay home, say for example during the weekends, I try to maximize my time in relaxing and taking a break. I would light up scented jar candles found in various spots in the house, eat a great meal while I read a book. This is the perfect setting for me whenever I get off from work. This is much too different from the usual come and go routine relationship I have with my apartment.

I want to be able to enjoy my garden regardless of the time of day. Since I live alone in a big house and have my family far away from me, I would usually spend my weekends at home doing the things which help me relax. I normally would spend the entire day reading books, and if friends come over they would usually be with me in my garden.

My garden is a huge part of my property, filled with various produce and plants of all types and sizes. At night, the entire space looks wonderful with solar lamp post lights installed throughout the entire space. This allows me to extend our afternoon tea into dinner and even post-dinner drinks. Being able to relish the ambiance is the reason why I have a garden in my home.

Every homeowner would want a space they can be truly proud to show to their friends and loved ones. The home is an extension of one’s self, and they reflect who we are as people. It is for this reason why most homeowners would take their time in making sure they only make use of the best materials and furnishings their money can buy.

There are a few things though which are often overlooked in the design and fit-out of the home. Door hardware is one of them. One would think that this is something which is simply functional, but smart homeowners would also make sure that the smallest of details are also reflective of their personalities. Bringing style and elegance in the home does not only depend on the décor, sometimes the fixtures and basic items must also be well-thought of.

There are many items we can hand out to our colleagues and co-workers in the office whenever they are celebrating their birthday or any other occasion. I am the type of person who is very much thoughtful especially with those under my team, as I believe that I can win them over not by intimidating them but by befriending them. This is my strategy to make them follow me, by being their friends without having to be abused.

I always keep a number of candle gifts wrapped in my desk. This way I can have no problems in handing out these things if the girls in the office are celebrating their birthdays. Since we all know how stressful it can be at work, I would want them to be able to relax as soon as they come home from work. A great atmosphere at the home is conducive for rest and relaxation they deserve.
