How Touch Lamps Work

So, how do touch lamps work? It is all dependent on certain properties of the human body. Temperature, resistance and radio reception are qualities of the human body that can switch on light. These lamps are sensitive to the warmth of the human hand. Another way is by conducting electricity with the help of the water content in our body. Water in the body and electricity when placed together can close the circuit between the two.

The human body is also a kind of antenna that works on radio waves. These qualities work on the lamp’s capacity to hold electrons. Whether it is brass table touch lamps or any other kind of touch lamp, when you touch it you add to the capacitance and the circuit detects the difference. It will connect and light up. This is the principle of how touch lamps work.
