When I got a pet a few months back one of the problems I would need to deal with is having to refrain him from coming up and down the stairs all by himself. Since my dog is quite small, it would be dangerous for him to be able to have the freedom to do this. There may be instances when he may fall or slip especially when my stairs are quite slippery.

In order to make sure he stays in the ground level of the house, I installed some iron gates both at the top and bottom ends of the stairs. This way, I can prevent him from coming down when I am upstairs, and get him to stay with me downstairs while I am busy with chores. This is the perfect solution to my dilemma, especially since I would not want him to suffer the same fate he experienced during the first few days he stayed with me at home.
