Like grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks have similar beginnings. Large selections of cuckoo clocks are still manufactured in Black Forest, Germany. Older versions of the cuckoo clock have a similar mechanism as the grandfather clock, namely the weight driven mechanism. Modern versions, however, have sold out to the practicality of battery operation. They have however retained the look, even the very common decorated chalet style.

Even if I still have to see one, grandfather cuckoo clocks is a possibility. You can only imagine a tall narrow cabinet with a pendulum set up. In combination with a cuckoo clock it will have the face of a clock coupled with a cuckoo bird chirping out the time every hour. Is that possible? As I said, I have not seen one, but in this modern age, nothing is impossible.
