Various devices have been used to hold candles. The small tea light is used in small oil vases made of clay or ceramic. They give out a pleasant glow in the bathroom or in the bedroom. But aside from the beautiful light that the flame provides, it is also a source of heat. The heat from the flame releases the fragrance from the oil and the room is filled with a citrus or a floral fragrance.

Candle holders can be as big as a chandelier. I have seen an intricate wrought iron candle holder that was so large it looked almost like a chandelier. It has rings that will hold candles, if desired. But that kind of a holder is not very practical these days since lighting a lot of candles on a hanging chandelier can be a lot of work.
