A recent storm hit the pacific islands. The islanders who were used to a warm tropical climate were caught off guard. There were several days of rain and winds that caused many people to shiver. When foreign relief aid was sent, they brought with them food and blankets. A family of three received a down blanket from a relief agency and was surprised and delighted that it was enough to keep all of them warm.

Not many people from the island were familiar with a down blanket. The blankets that they had gotten used to were thin and woven. A down blanket on the other hand is thicker and made from down feathers. It is used during the cold winter months. Some people choose to get a down blanket over a comforter.
