Sickness in the family should warrant frequent changing of bed sheets. Have a hamper or basket to carry the bedding to the laundry area. Do not “hug” the laundry prior to washing. Remember too to wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based rub immediately after handling dirty laundry.

Take care of your bedding sets so they would last longer. Use only non-chlorine bleach on colored sheets. Bleach white sheets only when strictly necessary because bleach weakens fibers. One way to brighten whites is to add ¼ cup of lemon juice to the wash cycle. You should use warm water then tumble or sun dry to increase the whitening effect.
