Expressionism art
There are many forms of art. Expressionism art is just one form. It typically presents subjects under a totally subjective perspective, sometimes violently distorting them to make a more vivid emotional effect. This form originated in Germany in the 20th century and has been applied in poetry as well as painting. It even found its way in theater and architecture.
Expressionism art is characterized by intense emotion. It is not surprising that this art form comes to the fore in times of upheaval. Disaster, chaos and oppression are favorite subject matters of expressionist artists. Their objective, after all is to express themselves and they love to do this in complex psychic ways. Because of this not everybody is a fan of expressionist paintings and other art forms.
